It never fails. You have the perfect manicure and something happens. You chip your nail polish and ruin your perfect look. What is worse is when you finally perfected that perfect manicure before that big event and a chip occurs to your polish. What do you do?
You panic. You want to bang your head on a wall. You want to skip the event.
No, you fix the chip and you save your manicure. Here is how you do that.
Step One: Retrieve That Nail Polish Remover
Grab your favorite nail polish remover and pour a little bit in a throw away the bowl. Now take your index finger and place it into the polish remover. Just dab a little onto your finger. This would mean that your finger would feel a bit damp.
Step Two: Begin Working On The Chip
Begin working on the chip in a slow, steady motion with the dampen index finger. You will do this by nudging the polish forward toward the outer ridge of the nail. Try to smooth the polish the best you can to hide the chip.
Step Three: Allow The Nail To Dry
Give the nail about a minute to dry. Try not to touch anything with the nail.
Step Four: Reach For The Exact Same Polish You Are Wearing
Open up the polish you are wearing and apply a small amount to the nick area. You will do this by brushing a small about over top of the nick. Allow the polish to dry for a minute or so.
Step Five: Apply Color Over Entire Nail
Once the nick has had a minute to dry, apply a thin layer of polish over the entire nail. Give the nail three to five minutes to dry.
Step Six: Look Over Your Handy Work
Is the nick still showing? If it isn't showing, you did a job well done. If it is, the nick may be too severe. Your only other option is to remove the polish completely from this nail and polish the nail again. It is a bit of work, but it will make your manicure perfect once again.
Hopefully, you are satisfied with the repair job you did on the nick and you won't have to completely redo your manicure. Hopefully, you are also satisfied with the end result of your manicure and it is once again perfect.
